As we remember Jordan on his birthday today, we are celebrating his legacy through his love for music. Here is a Facebook post by his mother, Marilyn, as she shares her joy and gratefulness,
"Today is Jordan’s birthday and I can’t think of a better way to honor him then by letting friends and family know what your efforts and donations over the last couple of years to the Jordan Dickerson Share The Music foundation has accomplished.
After partnering with the Gift of Music Foundation, over $6,000 and several instruments were donated in Jordan’s name. As a result, the gift of music was given to more than a dozen beginning music students across metro Atlanta. Part of the donations collected were used to grant Fish Christmas Wishes at 104.7 FM The Fish. So amazing!!! I invite you to check the Gift of Music website on the following link, https://giftofmusic.org/a-gift-that-lives-on to read about the foundation and check out the article under their impact section and success stories that featured one of the recipients, Xavier Wiley from Stone Mountain, who received a guitar for Christmas last year.
Thanks to all of you for honoring Jordan and being part of the gift of music that lives on in his name. Although this year we are not actively having a fundraiser, at any time feel free to make a donation or donate an instrument to the Gift of Music Foundation in his honor.
Today I might just go on a couple of geo caches, go to a movie, listen to some music by the Civil Wars and maybe get in the holiday spirit by listening to some Christmas music by Pentatonix, give someone a big hug and big smile and try to make someone feel special, which is what Jordan did best. Most important, I will thank God for him."
